FITASC SPORTING NEWS

With the final selection shoot at Brondia just around the corner 8/9 September I thought it was about time to deliver a personal newsletter to all this seasons participating FITASC Sporting Competitors.

After two seasons of uncertainty it has been comforting to see the smiles back on the faces of the participants at the GB selection shoots.
The efforts of John Dyson Hepworth Hall, Kevin Newton Southern Counties and Grahm Lapthorn Newnham Park, have been much appreciated by the FITASC Sporting Sub Committee; Nick Woodward, Elaine Draper Paul Storey, Neville Jay, Andy Shore and Matt Hance. The committee also deserve a huge vote of thanks for their efforts in raising the profile of our discipline in 2007.

My reward, came from the success of our European Team in France, bringing home Team Gold Medals in: Ladies Juniors, Vets and Super Vets with the Senior team fighting hard and bringing home a superb Silver, many thanks, a superb 'Team' effort.

At the World Championships in Konopiste Czech Republic, with over 30 participating nations the GB teams skills and ability would be thoroughly tested. Tested it was with deceiving targets of a very hard composition, the results of all the competitors were low in comparison to previous events. True to form the Brits in adversity stuck solidly to their task and brought home the goods after four days of tough competition.

Gold medals were won by the Ladies and Veterans, with Juniors and Super Vets Silver and the Seniors with a real difficult opposition to overcome, bringing home a very good Bronze.

Finally, I am very pleased to announce that due to generous sponsorship in 2007 from Alan Rhone Krieghoff, Mike Haw Hull, Darren Hull Blaser, Shaun Stacey West Country Guns and Bjorn Waktari GMK, I can now offer additional funding to all the European and Worlds Team GB members, an additional £150 per event for 2007. Claim forms will be available at Brondai.

Many thanks to ALL the FITASC Sporting Family:

Hugh Smith Chairman GB FITASC Sporting.
