GEORGE WINS THE PAN AFRICAN CHAMPIONSHIPS AND THE FIRST LEG OF THE WORLD CUP FOR 2007

The Pan African Fitasc Championships were held in Marrakech over three days. This event was also the first leg of the World Cup for 2007.

The conditions of the shoot were not favourable. The first day was extremely cold, with sleet and rain driving across the desert. This weather was not forecast in Marrakech, so the wet weather gear remained carefully packed back at the Hotel, and as the shoot was over an hour away in the desert, it was impossible to return to the Hotel for the appropriate clothing.
Therefore, the first day of the competition was an endurance test. Shorts and T-Shirts in the rain and sleet make shooting very difficult, but all of the competitiors from all over the World kept shooting.

After the first day George was leading by two targets. He shot 94/100, Nassim from Switzerland was second on 92/100 and Cedric Bidet from Belgium was on 88/100.
The second day bought better weather and a new lease of life to the shooters. George stepped on the "gas" a little and produced a 96/100, giving him 190/200. He completed his layouts on the second day, so did not have to return for the final day.

Tony Manvill from Great Britain finished on a 182/200 giving him silver place and Nassim for Switzerland finished on a 180/200 which was enough to secure bronze medal.
George was happy with his result, even though shooting conditions were tough, to win the Pan African and the First Leg of the World Cup was a great achievement, especially as he had taken a six month break from clay shooting, and this was his first competition abroad for 2007.
He now goes to America to defend his World Championship Title at the end of this month.
George shoots with a Perazzi Gun, uses Gamebore Cartridges and wears Hi Def Spex Shooting Glasses and Ambassador Services Shooting Clothes.
